The Morris Knolls Girls Varsity Volleyball Team adds another win to their list of victories. On October 19th, the MK Girls battled against West Morris Central Highschool in the Morris County Tournament (MCT) Semi Finals.

Prior to the game, freshman Olga Rostek revealed her thoughts, acknowledging that “we played West Morris before and lost, likely because we were not playing at the volleyball level we knew we could play.” She also added,  “[West Morris’] defense is really good and they never let the ball drop.” Sophomore Laci Merz was confident to play them again and explained, “We have a really good chance in the game if we work together as a team.” Senior Jolie Parisi said, “I am kind of nervous, but I am confident in my team. We are offensively strong. Our weaknesses might be serve receive.”

The game began in favor of West Morris as they scored the first point. Morris Knolls soon scored making the match 1-1. The game was tight. West Morris was strong on defense, returning difficult swings from outsides Carly Wemmlinger and Maya Frommelt, who were set by Grace Peters. Both teams intensely rallied, fighting hard for each point. Although Morris Knolls caught up to West Morris, turning the game over at 11-10, the first time out occurred at 16-18, with West Morris in the lead. This seemed to  fuel the excitement, and the cheers grew louder. An error on the West Morris side brought the first set to a close at 23-25. The Knolls team was ecstatic.
