Morris Knolls Field Hockey started the season strong with many young players who have risen to the varsity level. Maintaining an impressive record of 6-0, their game has improved tremendously since last season. One of their dedicated captains, Madelyn Barchetto, speaks proudly of her team by saying “It’s so easy to see the energy on the field. There is just so much love and it translates into our play.” Head coach, Patrica Fornaro, has a heavy influence on the positive environment that the girls appreciate. She reminds the team to “have the memory of a goldfish.” This saying may sound cheesy, but as the girls state, it has taught them to move past their mistakes and always strive for the next best thing. As photographed, they carried this inspiration into their recent win against Pope John. Captain, Eva Critchley, highlights how “happy she is to see progress from last season.” The girls are eager to continue winning and look to improve their record tonight against Par Hills. They truly believe with their team spirit they can make it far and “protect the nest!”
