Homecoming 2025 at Morris Knolls has officially come and gone, but the excitement from the October 4th festivities is still in the air. From creative outfit choices to school spirit on full display, students made this year’s celebration one to remember. The Student Government Association (SGA) worked diligently to bring the event to life, and students shared numerous opinions, from their favorite trends to suggestions for making next year’s Homecoming even better.
The night kicked off with a long line out the door, a clear indication that many students were eager to join the fun. Tickets this year were $11 if purchased in advance and $15 at the door, though in limited supply. Seniors who attended were automatically entered into a Free Prom Ticket raffle, a popular incentive that added an extra layer of excitement to the evening. The results have yet to be announced, but seniors look forward to knowing if they are the lucky winners.
Once inside, the gym buzzed with music, lights, and excitement. Morris Knolls provided students with refreshments and snacks throughout the night, such as lemonade, water, chips, and more. The gym was decorated with bright LED lights, tables, and a photo booth for students to capture the moment.
Senior Ethan Shumaker-Gromek rated the dance a 6 out of 10, noting that while there were plenty of sharp suits and polos, the event could be made more appealing to seniors with a better music selection. Despite that, he said he enjoyed taking pre-Homecoming photos with friends and the chance to dress up to celebrate together. He appreciated the lemonade and chips provided by MK, even helping move the lemonade stand earlier in the night.
Senior Savannah Amato rated Homecoming a 7 out of 10. She, like many other Morris Knolls students, took pictures beforehand at her friend’s house. Savannah said that getting ready together was the best part of the night, especially because she and her best friends color-matched their dresses. During Homecoming, Savannah enjoyed dancing with her friends, but did note that she would have liked better music choices. She also preferred the 2025 photobooth compared to this year’s. Regardless, she still took pictures and treasures the keepsakes. After the dance, Savannah felt that the gym was quite hot and would have appreciated more air conditioning in the space. She finished her night by hanging out with her friends at home.
SGA member Olivia Alvarez reflected on the night as a success, highlighting the variety of beautiful dresses she saw, especially the baby pink ones that seemed to be a trend this year. Looking ahead, she hopes to work with a DJ that Morris Knolls has partnered with in the past, perhaps one from prom or previous Homecoming events, to match the crowd’s energy better. She also mentioned that SGA plans to gather more student feedback to continue improving future dances.
As the evening came to an end, anticipation filled the air as the Homecoming Court winners were finally revealed. Mackenzie Comprelli and Lex Montanez were crowned, sparking loud cheers and big smiles that wrapped up the night.
Overall, Homecoming 2025 brought together students of all grades to celebrate school pride, friendship, and community. While some hoped for better song choices or cooler air, the night was filled with laughter, dancing, and countless memories that will last long after the lights dimmed in the gym.
