In her first months teaching at Morris Knolls, Ms. Berkheiser (also known as Coach B) has already made an outstanding impact in the school community. By attending numerous athletic events, passionately coaching the JV Volleyball team, and building an efficient workspace for her Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 students. Ms. Berkheiser aims to be, as she states, “Her students’ number one fan.”
Outside of school, Ms. Berkheiser loves spending her free time crafting. She has a particular interest in cross stitching, which she finds both relaxing and rewarding. In addition, she enjoys using her Cricut machine to create personalized gifts and decorations for her friends and family. These creative hobbies allow her to unwind, express herself, and show her loved ones how much she cares for them.
Ms. Berkheiser always knew she wanted to become a teacher. In 7th grade, her math teacher ignited her passion for math. The teacher’s kindness and genuine interest in her students inspired Ms. Berkheiser to pursue a career teaching math, while also building meaningful relationships with her own students.
Ms. Berkheiser eagerly looks forward to attending as many athletic events, plays, and extracurricular activities as possible. She’s always enthusiastic about cheering on and applauding her students’ achievements beyond the classroom.
A freshman in Ms. B’s Algebra 1 class, Oona Okola shares her honest takeaways regarding Ms. Berkheiser saying, “I appreciate how Ms. Berkheiser always encourages us to ask for help.” Additionally, Junior Audrey Beaupre shares, “She took time off of her lunch break to help me with my math work even though I wasn’t even in her class yet. When I was injured and sat out for practice, she would help me with my math on the side.”
Ms. Berkheiser’s dedication, kindness, and enthusiasm truly make her a valued and inspiring member of the Morris Knolls community, both inside and outside the classroom.
