Mrs. Brock, joined the Morris Knolls family this past month as an English teacher in replacement of Mr. Luttenberger who retired in December. She now teaches 1 section of Eng 9 CPA and 4 sections of Eng. 12 CPA.
Aside from being a student here at Morris Knolls herself, writing for the school newspaper and graduating in 2003, she attended two universities. While at Montclair State University, she majored in English Secondary Education 6-12. She also earned her Supervisors Certificate and Masters Degree at Centenary University majoring in Special Education K-12.
While she’s not teaching, Mrs. Brock enjoys skiing, spending time at lakes and/or beaches, spending time with her family and friends and attending her daughters’ lacrosse tournaments.

Mrs. Brock explained, “I love teaching because I love connecting with my students, especially through our classroom discussions. Seeing them share their ideas, think deeply, and grow, while knowing I’ve helped them prepare for the road ahead, is what makes it so meaningful to me.” Before she began teaching at Knolls, she started her teaching career at Copeland Middle School in January of 2008 where she taught all three grades.
In explaining why she decided to shift her focus from Middle to High School, Mrs, Brock explained, “I loved teaching middle school, but I’ve always wanted to teach at a high school level. Being in a K-8 district didn’t provide that opportunity, so when the chance came up, I decided to take it. I really enjoy deeper discussions and look forward to helping my students connect their learning to life beyond graduation”.
One of Mrs. Brock’s former Copeland students (now a Knolls’ student), Freshman Noah Arrojo, explained that he “[Thinks] she’s a very helpful teacher and she understands you a lot.” He added, “Her personality is very open and she makes you feel comfortable.” Likewise, her current students explained, “She’s fun to be with and very communicative.” Another student stated, “I think she’s very nice and makes learning fun.” English teacher Mrs. Augenstein also explained, “I had the privilege of teaching Mrs. Brock my first year at Morris Knolls, and I am thrilled to have her as a colleague.”
All in all, students as well as staff are excited to welcome Mrs. Brock to Morris Knolls and cannot wait to see the impact she leaves on her students here in high school.
