As Morris Knolls begins to wrap up the fourth marking period and underclassmen review the classes they’re excited to take next year, the seniors of MK have been eagerly preparing to take their next steps beyond high school. Whether they decide to go to college, enter the military, go into the workforce, or are still figuring it out, there is much to be excited about as they finish their time at Knolls.
The seniors of Morris Knolls celebrated their college decisions by sporting their new school’s apparel on May 12. Whether they are traveling across the country for their next steps or staying in state, many seniors ventured to Caruso Stadium for a makeshift photo-shoot early in the morning, where everyone could celebrate and recognize each others’ remarkable achievements.
After taking photos and drafting Instagram posts, seniors filed into school for their classes while still sporting their future school’s merch. Students spent the rest of the day buzzing about college plans and finding roommates, all while sharing some of their last moments together as high schoolers. Senior Amelia Raybould shared, “Decision day this year was pretty cool! It was really fun seeing where everyone is going next year.” After reflecting on her journey of indecisiveness when it came to picking the right college, she exclaimed, “I am happy to say that I will be going to Drew University next year, and I am so excited!”
Though the day was deemed a success by most picture-taking students, many shared the same complaint about the commitment day. The “official” decision day that was celebrated by most high schools was on May 1, almost two weeks before Knolls celebrated senior commitments. Seniors like Madison Sipple, Isabella Schulte, Regan Johnson, and Claire Kim agreed that they would have rather dressed up in their college apparel on the official decision day instead, so they could have shared their commitments at the same time as friends from other schools did.
Nonetheless (despite the weather being a bit chilly), senior decision day was a success, and we wish all Morris Knolls seniors good luck in their future endeavors.
